Research shows us that people are automatically geared to think that if you appear in a print publiciation, you must be credible.

The other day my own mother told me all about the Royal Family as though she was one of the insiders!  When I asked where she got the information … well, let’s just say I’m not sure I’d believe it.  But then, of course, it was in print. So it must be true, right?

You can get publicity and earn authority by having your name associated with business success in articles, blogposts, audios, videos and more.

The good news is that you don’t have to wait for a reporter or author to write about you.  You can write about yourself in third person OR as an expert who is teaching what they know.  This gives you the content to publish your own information online that makes you look like an authority.

There are tons of sites online looking for more content.  Why shouldn’t it be yours?

Today not only will it help you to appear like an authority online but you can also use that authority to make money by creating your own information products.

Now if you don’t know what an information product is, no problem.  If you’ve ever bought a book, you know what an information product would be.

If that book is published where it can be bought and downloaded on the internet then it’s also an information product.  If that book, called an ebook, is written by you and sold by you online … all the better! Because it can become an income product generator for you.

There is a new training center for entrepeneurs and people who want to work from home and publish online that is going up now.  Take a look at Instant Expert Blueprint or check out the facebook page by searching for expert blueprint.

Womencorp also has a lot of information on how to succeed in business so look around and check out the categories depending on what you’re interested in learning.

It’s great to be a woman today.  Here’s to your success!

How to Harness the Power of Mobile Merchant Accounts for Your Business http://www.womencorp.org/mobile-merchant-accounts/ http://www.womencorp.org/mobile-merchant-accounts/#respond Fri, 04 May 2012 12:38:31 +0000 http://www.womencorp.org/?p=459 Mobile options for simple and easy online merchant accounts are rapidly changing “business as usual” in the world of payment processing. This technology has the potential to significantly benefit small business owners. The most simplistic explanation of these services is that they create non-traditional methods of accepting payments and conducting transactions via cell phones and other mobile connected devices like tablets.

Outside the mobile technology infrastructure, business owners are tied to a physical point-of-sale model to take credit card payments. When the mobile payment model is adopted, however, anyone who can access the Internet via a connected device can, in essence, run a mobile “cash register.” This means not only accepting credit card transactions, but also managing inventory and handling other merchant services vital to a successful business.

In addition to this mobility for the merchant, the complimentary evolution of “near field technology” has put a new level of purchasing power in the hands of consumers. Chip-based credit cards, long the standard in Europe, are making rapid moves toward universal acceptance in the United States. These cards, which process one-time transactional data, are a huge step forward in shutting down identity theft and fraud.

The technology used in chip cards is easily utilized by today’s smartphones, primarily the iPhone and Android devices, allowing consumers to leave their cards at home and to make payments with just a wave of their mobile device. When the two payment structures converge, consumers can make payments anywhere at anytime, and merchants are prepared to process those payments regardless of the setting.

As mobile technology becomes an accepted day-to-day standard, merchants will be compelled to accept mobile payments as just a regular part of doing business. The rationale for taking credit cards in the first place is to cater to a major consumer desire for convenience. The smartphone is the connected wallet of the 21st century, and increasingly, tech savvy customers will want to utilize that mobile power.

The ways in which mobile payments can liberate a business from a physical presence and facilitate payment acceptance at the point of service are myriad. Added advantages of the mobile technology to businesses include the the ability to issue and to redeem coupons and discounts offers that can be used by the customer automatically, with no need to remember to bring along a piece of paper. Add to that advertising via social networking through customer “check ins” and on-the-spot reviews, and it’s clear that the flexibility and versatility of mobile payments will only make the services more desirable to consumers in the coming months and of greater benefit to merchants.

Third Tribe: Online Marketing with a Conscious http://www.womencorp.org/third-tribe-online-marketing-with-a-conscious/ http://www.womencorp.org/third-tribe-online-marketing-with-a-conscious/#comments Sat, 16 Oct 2010 15:02:32 +0000 http://www.womencorp.org/?p=440 The Third Tribe is a group of entrepreneur wanting to avoid the snake and oil techniques used by so many marketeers around the world. They prefer to do online business in a respectful manner with the focus on optimum customer experience, whatever product or service they offer. No aggressive and/or misleading advertising, screaming headlines or false offers.

The Third Tribe was created by the folks of copyblogger and this is what they say themselves about the concept:

Over the last several years, online marketing has been split into two opposing teams. Two tribes, if you will.

Mention the words “Internet marketing” to some, and images of obnoxious “gurus” spring to mind. You know the guys: big red headlines, yellow highlighting, crazy promises and hype. And yet real Internet marketers (not get-rich-quick scam artists) are some of the smartest, wealthiest, and most ethical entrepreneurs you’ll ever meet.

Mention the words “social media marketing” to some, and images of touchy-feely idealists who promote community over cash come to mind. And yet some of the smartest people in online marketing successfully participate in social media for higher traffic, better search engine optimization, and larger profits.

You might have guessed that there’s an overlap between the best and brightest of both of those two tribes. In fact, the “middle” marketers are the ones to watch.

This middle tribe avoids excessive hype and snake-oil offers. But they have no problem asking for the sale and making money. Lots of money.

These marketers test approaches from every direction to adapt and apply what they learn in a way that works. This tribe profits from the intersection of pragmatism and progress.

This is the Third Tribe.

I couldn’t express is better myself(especially since I’m not a native English speaker to begin with ;-)).

Neotrope Joins Sponsors of Self-Publishers Online Conference 2010 http://www.womencorp.org/neotrope-joins-sponsors-of-self-publishers-online-conference-2010/ http://www.womencorp.org/neotrope-joins-sponsors-of-self-publishers-online-conference-2010/#respond Tue, 11 May 2010 13:11:30 +0000 http://www.womencorp.org/?p=434 Edited by Debra Tone

Self Publishers Online Conference Authors Receive Self-Publisher Education and Book Promotion Discounts at Virtual Conference.

TORRANCE, Calif., April 13 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Neotrope today announced it has joined in sponsoring the second annual Self-Publishers Online Conference (SPOC), a three-day virtual event that features a total of 15 expert speakers, and which will take place May 12-14, 2010. Neotrope’s Send2Press® Newswire service (www.Send2Press.com) will be providing both promotional services for the event, as well as discounts on book promotion packages for attending book authors and small publishers.

“The book publishing industry is evolving, but one thing remains constant: the need to get the word out about new titles. Independent publishers, authors, and self-publishers can learn the latest about self-publishing and receive promotional discounts by attending the event,” said event co-founder, Susan Daffron, of Logical Expressions, Inc. “We’ve used Neotrope’s Send2Press services to promote our own books and we’re thrilled to have them as a sponsor.”

SPOC encourages aspiring authors to “Live Long and Publish” during the three-day virtual event that features 15 expert speakers, including Dan Poynter, Fern Reiss, Mark Victor Hansen, and 12 others. At SPOC, attendees can listen to presentations, browse the online exhibit hall of book industry vendors, and participate in Q&A roundtables and online discussions — all from the comfort of their desk.

“We’re excited to be part of this year’s event,” said Neotrope CEO Christopher Simmons. “The trend to virtual trade shows has been accelerating this year and the line-up of talent for SPOC is particularly impressive — a virtual event is ideal for bringing together such a wide variety of voices and expertise while making it cost effective for anyone to attend.”

He added, “I got my start in self-publishing as a teenage entrepreneur in the late 1970s, and there were no resources back then to learn how to do this. Now, events like SPOC can provide an invaluable education for new authors, and small publishers who want to take things to the next level.”

About Neotrope and Send2Press:
Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2010, Send2Press (a service of Neotrope) offers best-in-class affordable news distribution directly to working print and broadcast media, but also online and social media, and deep into search engines using proprietary ContextEngine® technology. Send2Press is unique because it was the first newswire service with staff entirely comprised of accredited public relations professionals, published authors, working journalists, and marketing experts.

Established in 1983 by creative guru Christopher Laird Simmons (a member of ASCAP and PRSA), and best-selling author J.L. Simmons, PhD, Neotrope® is a privately held company involved in brand marketing as well as entertainment publishing. Neotrope was an Inc. 5000 company in 2009. For more information about Neotrope, visit: www.Neotrope.com.

About the Self-Publishers Online Conference:
SPOC is the brainchild of Logical Expressions, Inc., a software and book publishing company based in Sandpoint, Idaho. President Susan Daffron says, “Because of the economy, fewer people are going to big publishing shows like Book Expo. I’m in Idaho and getting to New York isn’t exactly a picnic! We knew we weren’t the only publishers who wanted easier access to book publishing education and information, so that’s why we created SPOC last year. Our goal is to help more people learn how they can self-publish quality books, so anyone can attend SPOC live for free.”

Attendees can register online at SelfPublishersOnlineConference.com. A free Basic attendance pass gives participants live call-in access to the teleseminars, a log in for the exhibit hall and discussion area where they can ask questions and “virtually mingle” with other authors and publishers, and access sponsor benefits, including the discount code on the book promotion package from Send2Press. Paid Standard and Premium passes offer access to the seminar recordings and a wide range of additional bonus materials.

For more information about the Self-Publishers Online Conference, visit the Web site at SelfPublishersOnlineConference.com. For information about Logical Expressions, Inc. visit: www.LogicalExpressions.com.

How to do an interview on Skype with PrettyMay http://www.womencorp.org/how-to-do-an-interview-on-skype-with-prettymay/ http://www.womencorp.org/how-to-do-an-interview-on-skype-with-prettymay/#comments Fri, 16 Apr 2010 14:06:30 +0000 http://www.womencorp.org/?p=430 PrettyMay is an audio recorder for conversations using  Skype.  In 2 video tutorials we explain how this works with a real life example of a conversation, first from Skype to land line and then from Skype to Skype.  You will notice a considerable difference in quality on the side of the other caller.
If you do not know what Skype is, here is an introduction: Recording audio interviews with Skype

I’m a bit obsessed with Skype because it is such a great quality service.  You can call all over the world just by buying Skype credit.

I use PrettyMay a lot myself and I found the Professional license version sufficient for my needs to have unlimited recordings. Read the full article with 2 video tutorials here.

Interesting comparison between China and India http://www.womencorp.org/interesting-comparison-between-china-and-india/ http://www.womencorp.org/interesting-comparison-between-china-and-india/#respond Fri, 19 Feb 2010 14:40:20 +0000 http://www.womencorp.org/?p=416 This is such a great video that I really felt compelled share it with you: It’s a very informative video from Vitamine C, by Adam Daniel Mezei, who compares various facts between China and India, including economic.  He has other videos on China which are certainly worthwhile to watch as well.  I like his insights on China because they are not biased in favor or against it, although you feel he is excited by the country, and who would blame him? The idea for this video is mainly based on the book The Elephant and the Dragon” of Robyn Meredith.

Check out Adam’s other videos on his Vimeo channel.

Professional ladies of pleasure find Twitter http://www.womencorp.org/professional-ladies-of-pleasure-find-twitter/ http://www.womencorp.org/professional-ladies-of-pleasure-find-twitter/#comments Thu, 20 Aug 2009 10:39:24 +0000 http://www.womencorp.org/?p=400 Imagine, I’m walking down the street and suddenly, 12 lightly dressed ladies jump on me from around the corner, expressing the desire to follow me.  As a male, it is kind of flattering to be so popular with the ladies, so my first reaction is one of delight, although I confess to have a girlfriend and therefore I am not supposed to have feelings like that, but we are only human.  Alas, a closer look reveals them as professional courtesans, to say the least.
What a cold shower! I slump back into the deep depression I came from. Of course, they want to follow me, it figures.

I’m actually talking about Twitter here. Today, no less then 12 supposedly real people started following me.  Many of these twitters only have one tweet, generally saying something about nice pics, webcams and what they can do with their female body.  You don’t have to be a scientist to deduct that the oldest profession in the World has found Twitter and they are hitting it really hard.  Yesterday I had 4 followers, today 12 and the day isn’t over yet.  I wonder what tomorrow will bring.

The most amazing thing is that when you look at their profile, some people manage to follow them in return.  There is one who has already 20 followers while there is nothing to follow except one tweet and a URL to a questionable site.
Some people simply return the favor if someone follows them, without looking who this person actually is.  Alas, a lot of these “ladies” are created by owners of certain explicit sites.  How do I know that? Because many of the tweets have exactly the same message, from which follows that most of these twitters are not real people at all, just cardboard characters.

Check first who is following you

So, the lesson is that you have to check first who is following you before you return the favor because it can damage your public image if you appear to follow a set of professional ladies of pleasure.  It certainly looks rather dumb, whatever your idea about prostitution is.  Also, do not click on a URL of a questionable tweet.  You do not know where you end up. Although I’m not saying they all do, but some of those sites may contain spyware, so be careful.

I’m avoiding the use of certain words because they it get picked up by search engines and that can have a negative effect on the womenCorp site.  Among other embarrassments, GoogleAds can turn up undesirable ads.  You would be amazed what the word “woman” on its own can trigger, let alone more explicit words.
If you want to comment on this article, please keep that in mind and shield those words by using metaphores.  Thank you for your understanding.

How to interact with Twitter http://www.womencorp.org/how-to-interact-with-twitter/ http://www.womencorp.org/how-to-interact-with-twitter/#comments Sat, 16 May 2009 18:18:15 +0000 http://www.womencorp.org/?p=387 A lot of people, and that includes me, do not exactly understand how Twitter works, as it is quite confusing in many ways.  But I stumbled upon an interesting article that more or less explains the various types of conversations that go on and how to blend in.
That said, I’m a couple of months on Twitter now and I’m not an expert, but from what I have seen, I think that when you are a business, meaning, you want to use Twitter to sell your products or lead traffic to your site, you should not try to act as if you are a natural person happening to hang around there (as many gurus tell you to do).  Because that is like being a wolf dressed as a sheep, and trust me, people on Twitter are not stupid.  So, whatever you do, if you are business, behave as business .  If you have something interesting to sell, people will follow you without the charade.

But it helps if you understand Twitter, and this article gives you a clear overview: http://www.twitip.com/the-fine-art-of-balancing-your-twitter-conversations/

A fun message is viral http://www.womencorp.org/a-fun-message-is-viral/ http://www.womencorp.org/a-fun-message-is-viral/#respond Sat, 16 May 2009 17:54:30 +0000 http://www.womencorp.org/?p=381 On the site of American Small business is an article from Paul Boomer with an video example how to get your message effectively across the internet with. It is all about creating a compelling, fun video commercial which people will want to share with their friends and colleagues.  Let’s face it, most commercials are dead boring, we are sitting them out while watching TV or we get something from the refrigerator in the hope to be back on time when the movie commences.  The internet is different because the viewer has the choice to go away and not to come back without risking to miss anything.  Therefore, the regular TV commercial will never make it on the internet, apart from a couple of exceptions. Unless your video commercial is really, and I mean, REALLY interesting, chances that it will be watch until the end are small indeed, so you have to make sure that the viewer is entertained and you will want to keep it short as well.

The video used as an example  on the American Small business site is rather compplicated to achieve and that is part of its charm, actually. It is not exactly the ideal example for a start up entrepreneur with a tight budget, but a fun message doesn’t need to be that complicated, of course.  Most brilliant ideas are simple.  As long as you get a smile on the viewer’s face, your video commercial will have a good chance of going viral on the internet:
